Philippines Partnership for Sustainable Agriculture (PPSA)
The Philippines Partnership for Sustainable Agriculture (PPSA) was launched in 2015 by the Secretary of Agriculture, after consultation with stakeholders. It was initially discussed at the Grow Asia Agriculture Forum in 2014, by the Department of Agriculture of the Philippines together with global and local companies. PPSA has brought together more than 80 organizations, forming six Working Groups which focus on cassava, coconut, coffee, corn, fisheries, and cross cutting issues (including topics such as access to finance especially through mobile phones, infrastructure and logistics, and farmer capacity building). The Working Groups are developing projects, plans and partnerships, based on detailed analysis of value chains, aimed at advancing food security and sustainable agricultural growth in the Philippines.
